About Us
We didn't set out
to build an agency.
55% of business owners say they don't feel confident choosing marketing help. We built Average Joes so they wouldn't have to guess.

We don't stop. We just adjust.
How It Started
Nebraska has 179,000 small businesses. 145,000 of them have five employees or fewer. Most of them don't have a marketing department — the owner IS the marketing department. We know because we were one.
It started with Trash Joe's — a junk removal company Nate built from scratch. Payton came in, rebuilt a client's website, and within nine months her traffic had quadrupled. No agency. No playbook. Just figuring out what actually works for businesses in towns where everyone knows your name.
Then we learned the rest — Google Ads, SEO, reputation management — and realized the same small-town businesses we grew up around were either invisible online or paying agencies that couldn't explain what they were doing. 37% of business owners say they were promised big results and saw low delivery. We built Average Joes because that number should be zero.

Hands your site to a junior dev and bills you like it was senior work.
UsPayton and Nate build it. Payton and Nate manage it. You know who to call.
Who We Are
Payton
Midland University grad — communications major, digital marketing minor. Taught himself the rest. Payton handles design, strategy, and the long game with every client. When something needs built or a customer has an idea six months after launch, he's the one who makes it happen.
Nate
Nate is usually the first voice you hear. He started Trash Joe's, learned what actually moves the needle for small businesses, and built Average Joes to do it for others. When you call, he picks up.
73% of rural consumers trust people they know over any paid ad. That's why we show up.
We're from Fremont. We stay in it. We manage it every month. And we only win when your numbers go up. No contracts. No jargon. No surprises — just a conversation.
